Pune-based defence company Nibe Limited conducted a successful test firing of the Suryastra rocket system at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha. The rocket system has strike ranges of 150 km and 300 km and is designed for precision attacks.
The successful test is considered a major boost for India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capability and supports the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative in defence production. The Indian Army is expected to use the system for long-range battlefield support and strategic operations.
The development highlights Odisha’s growing importance as a defence testing hub because Chandipur houses several missile and weapons testing facilities.
