Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal addressed the Logistics Excellence, Advancement and Performance Shield (LEAPS) 2025 Awards in New Delhi, where he unveiled an ambitious export growth roadmap for India.
The Export Target and Rationale
India achieved record exports of USD 863 billion in 2025‑26. For the current financial year (2026‑27), Goyal set a target of USD 1 trillion — a gap of USD 137 billion — which he described as "not impossible" to bridge. Services exports grew roughly 8.5–9% in 2025‑26, while overall exports expanded nearly 5%.
