Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) R. S. Gopalan chaired a high-level state preparatory meeting to review the implementation framework of the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state's electoral rolls. Scheduled to launch on May 30, 2026, the exercise aims to eliminate errors in voter data, process new enrollments, and execute smooth migration updates. Crucially, to bridge the accessibility gap across rural pockets, the department has mandated that all enumeration forms be printed in Odia. Furthermore, District Information and Public Relations Officers (DIPROs) have been given explicit directives to actively monitor social media platforms to flag and suppress misleading or fake news concerning the voter revision.
