Speaking at a special event at Bhubaneswar's Lord Lingaraj Temple on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Somnath Temple's reconstruction, CM Majhi articulated a vision where Odisha's spiritual and cultural heritage becomes a driver of job creation. He framed this within PM Modi's "Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi" (Development with Heritage) mantra, announcing two major projects: the Ekamra Kshetra development at ₹330 crore and the proposed Shri Jagannath Museum at ₹1,000 crore.
Majhi stated that promoting the Orange Economy — a term describing economic activities rooted in culture, arts, heritage, and creativity — and generating employment through tourism remain key priorities. He drew a symbolic parallel: if Somnath stands as the sentinel of western India, Lingaraj represents the unwavering spiritual force of the East.
